Who we are, why we started, and the principles that guide every review we publish.
HydrationReviewed was founded in 2024 by a small group of nutrition researchers and fitness writers who were frustrated with the state of supplement journalism. Most "review" sites were thinly disguised storefronts. Rankings were dictated by affiliate payouts, not product quality. Ingredient panels were ignored in favor of flashy packaging.
We set out to build something different: an editorially independent publication that applies rigorous methodology to the hydration supplement space. Every product we evaluate is purchased at retail price with our own funds. We do not accept free samples, sponsored placements, or manufacturer influence of any kind.
Today, HydrationReviewed serves thousands of readers each month who rely on our analysis to make informed purchasing decisions. We remain a small, focused team — and we intend to keep it that way.
Our editorial staff combines backgrounds in nutritional science, sports physiology, and investigative journalism.
Former nutrition columnist with over 8 years of experience covering the dietary supplement industry. Holds a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Michigan. Daniel oversees all editorial direction and final ratings.
Exercise physiologist with a background in sports medicine research. Priya designs and executes our physical performance testing protocols and interprets the clinical data behind ingredient dosing claims.
Investigative researcher responsible for verifying manufacturer claims, sourcing certifications, and cross-referencing nutritional panel data against third-party lab results when available.
We purchase every product we review at full retail price. No brand has ever paid for placement, and no affiliate relationship has ever influenced a rating. Our revenue model supports our work; it does not dictate it.
We disclose our affiliate relationships on every page. Our scoring methodology is published in full. If we update a review, we note the date and reason for the change.
We evaluate nutritional panels, not packaging. Claims must be substantiated by the ingredient list and, where possible, by peer-reviewed research. We attribute all scientific claims to their sources.
If a reader identifies an error or a manufacturer disputes our findings with verifiable data, we investigate and correct the record publicly. Our credibility depends on getting it right.
